BRiTE and the development of a professional portfolio of learning

One of the goals for embedding BRiTE into our Early Years program was to emphasise the importance of relationships  as a core element of achieving success as an early childhood educator, and to guide pre-service teacher reflection and development of a portfolio within their subject learnings using :

  • Discussions
  • Interviews
  • Questioning
  • Logs and Journals
  • Modelling of reflection
  • Flexible thinking
  • Management of impulsivity
  • Remaining open to continuous learning

In building and linking learning to the structure of the BRiTE Modules,  the capacity for learners and teacher educators to prompt engagement with certain aspects of the Module, and for PSTs to use the module content as a springboard into further professional learning is both acknowledged and exciting.
